In-person early voting for North Carolina’s November 3 general election begins Thursday, October 15, and continues through 3 p.m. Saturday, October 31, according to the State Board of Elections.
Eligible residents may cast a ballot at any authorized early-voting location within their county, rather than only at their assigned Election Day precinct. The state has announced 370 early-voting sites statewide. County schedules and operating hours vary, so voters should confirm the location before traveling.
Eligible residents who missed the regular October 9 registration deadline may register and vote at the same early-voting site during this period. State election officials say same-day registrants must attest to eligibility, provide proof of residency, and show acceptable photo identification under state rules. Same-day registration is not generally available on Election Day.
The deadline to request a civilian absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. October 20. Different rules may apply to military and overseas voters.
Residents should confirm their registration status and consult official county or state election resources for voting sites, registration documents and identification guidance.
