Semiconductor shares regained some ground Friday morning after Thursday’s sharp sell-off. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index was up 4.6% in late-morning trading, MarketWatch reported, following a drop of more than 12% the previous day.

The reversal was uneven across markets. While U.S. shares tied to artificial intelligence recovered part of their losses, benchmark indexes in Tokyo and Seoul each fell about 6% after Thursday’s U.S. decline, according to the Associated Press.

The U.S. figures are a snapshot of Friday morning trading. The semiconductor index was still below its level before Thursday’s drop.
