An infant has died in connection with the measles outbreak in southwestern Wisconsin, the state Department of Health Services announced Thursday. It is the first measles death Wisconsin has reported since 1990, according to the Associated Press.
The state’s November 5 outbreak update listed 431 confirmed cases, nine hospitalizations and one death statewide this year. Those figures cover the state as a whole, beyond the southwestern outbreak.
Residents can check the state’s outbreak page for updated counts as the investigation continues.
